Editorial Policy
Six rules. They govern everything published here.
- Every number carries its source and its sample size. A rating never appears without the count behind it, because a five from three buyers and a 4.6 from twenty-seven thousand are not the same claim.
- Prices carry the date they were checked. Anything older than seven days is labeled as last checked rather than shown as current.
- We say when we have not verified something. A manufacturer claiming a product is pet-safe is recorded as a manufacturer claim, not as a fact, because there is no legal standard behind the phrase.
- Community claims are counted, not paraphrased loosely. When we say people report something, we say how many, out of how many comments read, and where.
- Rankings are generated from data, not written. If a product we like loses on cost per ounce, it loses.
- Corrections are visible. When we get something wrong we fix it and say what changed.
What We Will Not Publish
- A test result nobody ran.
- A quote nobody said.
- A rating with no source.
- A frequently asked question that nobody asked.
